How Smartphones Have Changed the Way We Use the Internet

Smartphones are the new technology of today's world. Most people have some form of a smartphone. Smartphone can scan barcodes and let you know where that item is sold at the lowest price. There are google maps that one could use to help them locate whatever they are looking for. Smart phones have created a thin layer between physical and virtual worlds. Due to the fact that smartphone allow instant access to the Internet and all functions of the World Wide Web the Internet has become a necessity instead of a commodity.

Origins of Internet Names

There are many names that we use on the internet every day. Twitter is a microblogging service that uses tweets. To tweet is to twitter and the original name for the project was twttr. Google was names after a misspelling of "googol". Facebook stemed from a "house" facebook started by a collection of college students. Yahoo began as a student hobby and is an acronym "Yet Another Hierarchiecal Officious Oracle". Yelp was formed from a contraction of yellow pages. Wikipedia was based from a quick collaborative encyclopedia. Amazon was named after the worlds most voluminous river
