Origins of Internet Names
There are many names that we use on the internet every day. Twitter is a microblogging service that uses tweets. To tweet is to twitter and the original name for the project was twttr. Google was names after a misspelling of "googol". Facebook stemed from a "house" facebook started by a collection of college students. Yahoo began as a student hobby and is an acronym "Yet Another Hierarchiecal Officious Oracle". Yelp was formed from a contraction of yellow pages. Wikipedia was based from a quick collaborative encyclopedia. Amazon was named after the worlds most voluminous river
